Your roof may already be earning a discount you are not getting.
Florida insurers are required to credit wind-resistant construction. Most Tampa Bay homes qualify for more of those credits than their policy reflects. Answer seven questions about your roof and windows and see which ones yours already earns.
What this actually checks
- The same seven categories a Florida wind mitigation inspection reports on — roof covering, deck attachment, roof-to-wall connection, roof shape, secondary water resistance, opening protection and the age of the roof.
- Those categories are the ones your insurer prices against. A hip roof and wrapped roof-to-wall straps are usually the two that move the number most.
- Nothing is submitted anywhere. The credits are only applied once an inspector documents them on the state form and your insurer receives it.

On its way.
We'll send the breakdown and call to set a time. Wind mitigation and 4-point are usually done in the same visit, which is one trip and one fee rather than two.
